  • I enjoyed the first season of Fargo a bunch because its just good detective thriller. The whole Cohen Brothers Thing they try to pull off is mostly regarded to fragrances of triviality in the air, but definitely not in the movie's level.
  • Fargo is weird, it's like watching somebody's obsessive Cohen bros tropes remix fanfiction thing. And they're a little too into the idea of Anton Chigur being a literal supernatural entity. But Martin Freeman = psychopath is a good thing to be getting across to the viewing public. I got a huge crush on the Season 1 cop lady though, hate when that shit happens, why I'm never watching the X-Files. I don't got time for that nonsense.
    • True. I forgot how some of the villain's demonstrations of control are indeed borderline-supernatural. It's pretty nuts. But in the end it comes across as being its own thing to me, with an own personality of sorts, so I'm cool with it.

  • a much, much better show than its legions of insufferable teen fangirls and Hot Topic products might lead you to believe.
  • The fact that Jhonen Vasquez (aided by TV's Frank Coniff, among others) had a kid's cartoon show on nickelodeon still boggles my mind (JTHM was both cathartic and soothing during my early, lonely high school years).
  • it's no rocko's modern life but I remember it being OK
